The Print Story: Fuchsia Lily
A behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration and design process behind one of our most-loved SS26 prints
Some prints arrive fully formed. Others take weeks of sketching, sampling, and second-guessing before they finally click. The Fuchsia Lily print — the one you've been adding to your baskets and sliding into your DMs about — was very much the latter. And we think that's exactly why it feels so alive.
Where It Started
Every print at Atom Label begins with a feeling rather than a brief. For SS26, we were drawn to the idea of bold femininity — not the soft, muted kind, but something with real presence. Something that walks into a room before you do.
We kept returning to the lily. Architecturally dramatic, unapologetically lush, and with a colour range that felt made for the season. The fuchsia came later — a deliberate push away from the expected blush or coral, towards something with more heat and confidence.
From Sketch to Screen
The design process started with hand-drawn studies of lily blooms at different stages — tight buds, full open faces, trailing stems. We wanted movement in the repeat, so the eye travels across the fabric rather than landing on a single motif.
Once the drawings were digitised, the real work began: scaling the repeat to work across our different silhouettes, adjusting the colour balance so the fuchsia reads as vibrant without overwhelming, and testing how the print behaves on the bias and at the seams.

Why Fuchsia?
We get asked this a lot. The honest answer is that fuchsia felt brave in the best possible way. It's a colour that requires commitment — you can't wear it quietly — and that felt right for a collection built around confidence and self-expression.
It also photographs beautifully. Whether you're in natural light or under venue lighting at an event, the Fuchsia Lily holds its depth and vibrancy. That wasn't an accident.
The Response
We'll be honest — we hoped you'd love it. We didn't quite anticipate how much. The Carbon Jumpsuit in Fuchsia Lily has been one of our fastest-moving pieces this SS26 season, and the messages we've received about it have been genuinely lovely to read.
It's a reminder of why the design process matters — the weeks of iteration, the colour tweaks, the repeat adjustments. You feel it in the finished piece, even if you can't quite name it.
