WHAT SHOULD A FEMALE GUEST WEAR TO A WEDDING?

Your wedding invitation has arrived in the post and your first thought is what should I wear?  

I think we have all been in a situation where we have struggled to find the perfect wedding guest attire. However, the general aesthetic of a wedding can help guide you in the right direction to finding you the perfect outfit.

First of all, the dont’s, the general need to know ‘do nots.’ Do not wear white or off white (unless stated otherwise) this is for the bride herself.  Do not wear something too casual, were it looks like no effort has been made.  Do not wear something too short or revealing, this can look disrespectful.

Alternatively, the appropriate clothing need to be considered depending on the location and time of year the wedding is placed. For example, stiletto heels worn to a country side wedding – no thanks, sinking shoes all night! Once these general rules have been applied, you can be on your way to finding the perfect wedding guest attire.

Floral Dresses

Floral dresses are perfect for all year round.  Darker florals can be worn during A/W, whereas lighter florals can be worn through S/S. A floral print can be fun, bold and easy to style.  Pick a block colour from the floral print of your choice and apply this colour when choosing your bag and shoes.
